Lady Gaga @ O2 Arena, London

OMG what can I say? Last night I saw the best performance I think I've seen in a while!

I got the chance to see Lady Gaga last night at the O2 arena, although I was slightly disappointed with the venue. It looks pretty good on the outside, but the arena itself was a let down, stage was quite small, and lots of seating, seemed to me when it was constructed that they just had money in mind??

Deffo not Wembley standard, but hey that's just my opinion! However it didn't impede on GaGa's performance at all, which was magnificent. Running through all her songs, including a few unreleased, she showed what made her so different from other pop stars.

We had the kooky costumes:

and she did make sure the sets where quite good, the whole being of the show was that she was trying to make her way to the 'Monster Ball', and one highlight was near the end when she had almost made it but ran into the 'Fame Monster':

But the best part is the thank you that she bestowed on all her fans, taking time to appreciate that it is us that help her along, as well as showing off that she is a born performer, not only with a great voice but great stage presence!

I would recommend seeing her the next time she visits us, it really is an amazing experience! There wasn't a boring moment, and time seemed to wiz by!

And to prove that, I'll end with a video of an unexpected moment when Gaga was talking about her father, and hit us with a great rendition of 'Stand By Me'!

Every single person was singing along, it was fantastic!

So for now, follow this link to a similar one on YouTube:

What a great subject to celebrate my 100th post, by inviting you to the Candid Arts Mixed Media show! Wooooo!!

Im very excited about being a part of this, however i have one big dilemma- how i am going to reach there? You see, a few days ago i slipped at work and dislocated my knee, although they put it back in, i now have damaged tendons, fibers blah blah and resigned to a leg brace for the next 6 weeks! Hmmmmm great! It was a good job i framed up most of the work on the morning of the accident otherwise i'd be panicking abit by now!

Also i was ment to start an internship with Creative Review this month, and wonder how i may manage that???

Well, as they say, 'WHEN THERES A WILL THERES A WAY!'

TigerPrint Competition

Tigerprint are running another greeting card competition, this time based on the funny things that kids come up with. Ive designed three cards based on some funny stories I picked up on the internet.

A family moved to Wales. As they drove, they passed a large graffiti sign which said 'Free Wales!'. The daughter, aged 7, stated "They must have caught too many whales and are giving them away for nothing!"

Asking 4-year old to close the door to stop the draft coming in, she replied "Why is a giraffe going to come in??".

Asked 5-year old daughter one day: "Where do eggs come from?", expected the reply to be chickens. Instead she replied: "Tesco!"

Deffo had a bit of a chuckle researching these!

AOI Cycling Competition

These are a couple of images I've been working on to submit to the AOI's latest competition 'Cycling In London 2010'. The aim was to create an image which showed the environmental and/or health benefits of cycling, or demonstrate cycling as a fun way to get around the city.

The aim of the first image was to show the health benefits, the more you cycling the more your health worries 'drift away'.
The second was to show overall benefits of cycling. I'm trying to experiment with type more so this seemed the perfect way to try and incorporate it into an image. The bike is contrsucted with facts about the benefits of cycling.

I quite enjoyed putting these images together, especially constructing the city biker dude, it took me all day to put him and his bike together but it was deffo worth it!

They are offering pretty good cash prizes as well for the winners, as well as a showcase exhibition of 50 shortlist. You can see the details HERE
Fingers crossed!

Annie Driscoll Exhibition @ Sketchbook Pop-Up Shop

Last night I had the honor of seeing one of my friends Private View of her first solo exhibition.

Located at the fabulous Sketchbook Pop-up shop just off Carnaby street, Annie's work is an amazing mix of drawing and collage, with a vintage feel.

An added touch was the interactivity of design on the walls, such as painted trees and birds flying through the work.
Also on hand to entertain was live music by Dervla O'shea, who has the most angelic voice ive ever heard!

It was a great night, and Annie's work is on display until the 16th May, so you have plenty of time to check it out, as well as see what the brilliant people at SketchBook are up to!

You can see more of Annie's work HERE.
