Article Images

Image for an article about how a study found people learnt a language much easier through song. Interesting stuff.

After a meeting with a pretty cool agency back during the D&AD New Blood Show, they suggested a good way to build up your portfolio is to go through magazines and such that you would want to get work for and do your own, which is something ive been doing. Its good to produce quick one off images, and then show how they would look in the spread. So here is one spread, with the above image, and another image ive done of fruit and veg!

What one tree means to me....

When I was younger I was obsessed with a large weeping willow tree that is at the end of the road where my nan lives in Oxford. I used to think the branches were similar to when it rains!! Whenever we would go out, I would have to run under the tree, where I would then proceed to act like I was in the shower or singing in the rain, with my matching wellies and brollie as well! Even now when I see that tree i smile. . .

Theme: Simplicity

Submission to Underground Art School for their next magazine issue themed 'Simplicity'.
It is said happiness is found in the simplest of forms, and to me there is nothing better than simple activites such as reading a good book, or hanging out with good friends. Also it is often the case that these 'simple' activites provide me with the greatest inspiration, often when least expecting it!

Feminism Poster

An idea for a poster themed 'Feminism', for Dont Panic. My idea is based on the Feminist story 'The Yellow Wallpaper' by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. A woman is slowly driven mad by horrid yellow wallpaper in her bedroom after being locked in by her husband. My idea is that women help women to break free, so by pulling her from the confines of the yellow room, we are setting her (and women alike) free.
Might make a few adjustments before i submit. . .

WEBSITE!!

While I design my website, I thought it a good idea to set one up anyway, as with my degree show now on hopefully people will want to see more of my work! So I have set up a basic one using the company Moonfruit for free, which is great in terms of learning how to put one together! So while I design away, check it out. . .

As mentioned, my degree show at the Truman Brewery is currently showing until monday, last nights Creative Industry Private View was very well attended, lets hope it sets me on course!! Photos will be posted soon. . . .
